Prokaryotic cells are cells that do not have a nuclear membrane and the cell wall structure consists of peptidoglycan, lipids, and proteins. Prokaryotic cells are single cells that are smaller than eukaryotic cells. Therefore, prokaryotic organisms can only be seen through a microscope and their classification is based on DNA sequence, metabolism, and cell structure.
