The ideas expressed by Du Bois in his letter widely differs from the views which he expressed in his book ''The Souls of Black Folks'', which was published about eight years later, because of the conflicting thought process reflected in regard of the African American people.
DuBois was a exemplary author who wrote the book "The souls of Black Folks" in which he made strict comments in the support of the African Americans in the civil society, wherein he strongly supported the viewpoint that they must be strengthened both educationally and financially so that they achieve a good dignified life in American society. However, his ideologies varied greatly in the letter that he wrote and what was published in the book. He opposed the ideologies of George Washington, the then US President and also specifically mentioned that the African Americans must give up their dreams of holding strong political power or any other financial backing. He believed that African Americans may get empowered but will always remain enslaved under the white men supremacy.
