Respuesta :

The result of DNA replication is two DNA molecules having one new and one old chain of nucleotides. This is the reason that DNA replication is described as semi-conservative where half of the chain is part of the original DNA molecule and half is new.

What happens DNA replication?

During replication, DNA helix unwinds and the two single strands of DNA  serve as a template for a new strand to be created.

Once the DNA is all replicated, the cell has twice the amount of DNA. Cell can then divide and send this DNA into the daughter cell.

Cells replicate their DNA before they can divide. This ensures that each daughter cell gets a copy of the genome and also successful inheritance of genetic traits.
