The TGT used to gain access to an application server in the following manner The TGT is encrypted with the TGS private key.

The client sends her current TGT to her TGS and the service name that the client wants to access from the server.

KDC checks the user's TGT and whether the user can access the service.

If the KDC verifies both her TGT and access to the service, the TGS will send a valid session key to the client.

The client forwards the session key to the application server, verifies that the user has access, and the application server provides access.
