The sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system that is anatomically known as the thoracolumbar division is the division.

In general , sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system includes various organ systems of the body having connection emerging from the thoracic and upper lumbar spinal cord. Which is also known as the thoracolumbar system .

Hence, sympathetic division or thoracolumbar outflow also consists of cell bodies in lateral region of the spinal cord from T1 to L2. Cells bodies are GVE (general visceral efferent) neurons and are the preganglionic neurons.
