Step 3: Directions: open the model.

The model shows a power plant in a city located midway between the ocean and the mountains.
Air quality is affected by natural processes. Wind can move pollutants from their source to far-
away locations. Precipitation can remove pollutants from the atmosphere.
Your goal is to discover how both rain and the direction of wind flow affect the amount to
pollutants in the air.
I. Run the model as is. What is causing pollution emissions?
(When the pollutants fall in a large amount, that is rain cleaning the sky.)
2.
Add the maximum of cars. What did you notice?
3.
Move the wind button to the left. What did you notice?
