Respuesta :

Mcculloch v. Maryland (1819) & New york times company v. United States (1971)  are the two cases decided by US Supreme court.

About the cases

In Mcculloch v. Maryland, The court ruled that states lacked the authority to tax that federal government and that the federal govt had the right & authority to establish a federal bank. Marshall decided in favour of the federal govt & came to the conclusion that the ability to tax also included the ability to destroy.

In New york times company v. United States, The Nixon Administration made an effort to stop the New York Times & Washington Post from releasing documents from a secret Defense Department investigation into the history of American involvement in Vietnam, a case that came to be known as the "Pentagon Papers Case." The newspaper won a unanimous decision from the US Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled that the First Amendment protects the freedom to publish all statements.
