You just need a common denominator.
#2 - 4 x 3 = 12. So use 12 as your common denominator.
All you have to do is find the LCM (lowest common multiple).

Multiples of 3 are 1, 3, 6, 12, 18 etc
So find the lowest number that is the same for both. 12. And then multiply 4 & 3 by each other.
1/4 x 3 = 3/12
2/3 x 4 = 8/12
