The Mayflower Compact was the first agreement for self-government to be created and enforced in America. Pilgrims, aboard sailed from Plymouth, England. They were bound for the New World.
It was an agreement between the Puritans and the nonPuritans who had come on the Mayflower to establish a government together and to follow whatever laws that government made.
