I think that the power struggle between the two Presidents was mostly brought to television since that was the time when television was widely used. It is about the armed race, that's the symbol for the wrestling match, during the cold war. This also shows that winning this match will be the dominant country in the world. 

The three symbols that are used are

  • Symbols of both countries
  • The use of the face of the two leaders of both nations.
  • The symbol of the tussle that both leaders are engaged in.

What was the cold war?

This was a war that was fought between the US and the USSR or the Soviet union. It was a power tussle between these two countries.

The reason was due to the fact that the US did not want the arms deal that the Soviets had with Cuba.
