I believe they were the Magna Carta written in 1215 which established the belief that the monarchs rule was not absolute, the Petition of Right written in 1628 which extended the rights of the commoners to have a voice in the government, and the English Bill of Rights written in 1688 which guaranteed free elections and rights for citizens accused of crimes.
