6ft/9 = x/6 use cross multiplication to solve this 

you'll end up with 9x=36

The cardboard box would be 3 ft because the text is 6 ft and it cast a 9 ft and if you take 3 from 9 you get 6 so take 3 from the 6 ft shadow and you get 3 ft
