Time = T = 60 s
Speed = v = 5 m/s
distance covered in 60 seconds = 5 × 60 = 300 m
distance to be covered = 1240 m
so time= distance/speed= 1240/5 = 248 seconds
Now 248-60 = 188 seconds
so after a ride of 60 seconds it will take Brandi to take 188 more seconds to arrive at her house.
