Let's find the mean & the median of this series:
Mean = (313+346+440+481+503+526+543+551+560+617)/10 = 488
The Median (Central Value) = (503+526)/2 = 514.5
If 313 becomes 533, replace it by 533 and at the same time rearrange the series from smaller to greater
In this case the New mean will be:(346+440+481+503+526+533+543+551+560+617)/10 ==> New Mean=510
and the Median (503+533)/2 = 518
