The whole thing where America claimed to have "equality for all" was a total lie. This should have said "Equality for all white male landowners."
What happened was that women grew restless with the life of a simple housewife. They craved a change that included more freedoms, and the same choices and opportunities that men had. And if we're being honest here, women and slaves weren't treated very differently. Neither one could vote, own land, get a (good) job, voice their opinions, leave the men, or really disagree with the men at all! If a slave-owner wanted to, he could order a slave girl to have sex with him, and he could order his wife to do the same. If either slaves or wives stepped "out of line", then the men could slap, hit, beat, or in some cases, even kill them.
