the art teacher bought 8 different types of fabrics. she bought 1/3 of of a yard of each type of fabric. how many yards of fabric did she buy in all?

8 times 1/3= 8/3=2 2/3
Question- 8÷1/3
step 1- turn the whole number (8) into a fraction by adding a one at the bottom

step 2- when multiplying fractions, you have to flip the 2nd fraction.( turn 1/3 into 3/1)

answer 24/1= 24
