[tex]\bf \textit{quadratic formula}\\ 2x^2+16=0\implies \begin{array}{lccclll} 2x^2&+0x&+16&=0\\ \uparrow &\uparrow &\uparrow \\ a&b&c \end{array} \qquad x= \cfrac{ - {{ b}} \pm \sqrt { {{ b}}^2 -4{{ a}}{{ c}}}}{2{{ a}}}[/tex]

2x^2 + 16 = 0
a = 2 b = 0 c = 16
x= [-b +- sq root(b^2 -4ac)] / 2*a
x = 0 +- sq root 0 -4*2*16 / 2*2
x1 = +sq root (-128 / 4)
x2 = +sq root (-128 / 4)
