Most glacial ice is stored in polar regions. Why, then, would a severe melting of glacial ice cause sea level to rise off the coasts of countries located near the equator?

okay, imagine earth as a container. if you melt an icecube on one side of the container, the overall water level would increase right? it doesnt only increase on one side of the container. yeah so the overall sea level would rise hence even the sea level at the coasts of countries near the equator would rise. hope i helped :)
