This blockade was an economic war that lasted from 1939-1949, It was a part of the Battle of Atlantic. It was carried out by France and the United Kingdom. It consisted of the Naval blockade of Germany to prevent Food, Minerals and other necessary commodities from reaching Germany. The blockade was executed in four distinct phases. Till 1941 the blockade was unsuccessful because Germany was getting supplies from Spanish ports and from USSR.
