Harper has $17 to spend at the grocery store. she is going to buy bags of fruit that cost $4.50 each and one box of crackers that cost $3.25. the tax on her bill was $0.25 cents.

Well I don't know how many bags of fruit she is buying.. so I just assumed she was buying 2 bags..

4.50 + 4.50 = 9 
9 + 3.25 = 12.25
Then she still has her bill of 25 cents..
12.25 + 0.25 = 12.50 
If she has 17 dollars to start with just do the equation 17 - 12.50 = blank

Your answer is she has 4 dollars and 50 cents left or 4.50
