The area of a triangle is always:

A=bh/2  (base times the height divided by 2)

A=3x(2x)/2

A=6x^2/2

A=3x^2

...

The area is 1/2(b)(h).

We apply this to the base of the triangle to get 3x (0.5*3=1.5), then multiply it by 2x (the height) to get 3x^2
