Photosynthesis, the basis for all life on Earth, is an endothermic chemical reaction. It is an endothermic reaction since it requires energy for the process to occur. It uses light energy from the sun. A process that needs energy is characteristic to an endothermic reaction.
In photosynthesis, plants use energy from sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugar and oxygen. In an endothermic reaction, energy, in this case in the form of light energy, is absorbed.
