they classify organisms (living things) so they can get a better understanding of animals and how many variations of animals there are if they didn't we could find a new animal and not even know it there are lots of other reasons to mostly about cittern animals traits and behaviors and what an animal eats and if the food chain is broken what would happen to that animal or how it adapts to its climate.
