Eminem was the first white hip hop artist to be accepted by the hip hop community. He showed that hip hop was not just for African Americans and introduced it to a wider audience and aided in its acceptance. He also pioneered a nasal tone of rapping which was radically different from the gruff vocal tones used by the majority of the rappers at this time
