In the media they showed sport personalities such as footballers as a negative way and only showing this way, and this can influence people who are fans of the players or the team and they will follow them in their footsteps that can lead to others acting to ppl in a negative way
Sports personalities in the media are usually portrayed in a positive way unless they have been involved in a scandal or have a rude attitude. Here is a list on how they are portrayed:
- as heroes ( especially for younger boys)
- as having super qualities ( being able to jump while shooting a ball)
- as being hardworking, fit, healthy, and in shape
- as being role models for the younger boys
- sometimes as being smart because they are college athletes
The way they are portrayed influence people in the biggest way ( usually young men) by them believing they can be a famous ballplayer like them. Making lots of money traveling the world and being a role model for younger guys. Of course this usually doesnt happen for most.
