An adaptation is a feature that is common in a population because it provides some improved function. Adaptations are well fitted to their function and are produced by natural selection.
1) Cuttle fish can change its color within a fraction of a second, to exactly match to its surroundings,so that the prey would not know its presence,& with one fast spurt,can catch its unwary prey. 
2) A calotes can independently move any of its eye in order to have a back & forth & a wider view of its surroundings,so as to have a better view of its prey & its predator. 
3) Prey in Australia for poisonous snakes are so scarce,that a Snake cannot afford to lose its prey,once it's caught. In order to achieve this,the concentration of its poison has immensely increased,as compared to its relatives in other continents.
