This is a 3 part question.
1. Find the volume of the triangular prism.
V=1/2bhl (1/2)(base•height•length)
V=1/2(22•10•25)
V=1/2(5500)
V=2750 cubic cm
2. Find the volume of the triangular pyramid.
V=1/3(1/2bh)h
This one is a bit more tricky because it is attached to one of the bases of the prism. So the (1/2bh) is actually the area of the triangular base shared by both shapes. The second 'h' is the height of the whole 3D shape.
V=1/3(1/2•measure of base• height of base)height of whole shape.
V=1/3[1/2(10•22)]19.5
Using order of operations, start with the inner most parentheses. 10•22=220
V=1/3[1/2(220)]19.5
Again inner most parentheses 1/2(220)=110
V=1/3(110)19.5 multiply
V=715cubic cm
3. Now add the two volumes together to get the total volume of both shapes together.
Total Volume = 2750+715=
3465 cubic cm
