Ah so the length of the minute hand is the radius.

Given that the raduis is 14mm, the area of the watch face can be found with A=[tex] \pi r^2[/tex]

Therefore
A=[tex] \pi r^2[/tex]
A=[tex] \pi 14^2[/tex]
A=[tex]196 \pi[/tex]

The watch face has an area of [tex]196 \pi[/tex]

A clocks minute hand makes one revolution (360 degrees) for every hour. That means we can find the area as normal using the formula:

[tex] \pi r^2[/tex], where is the radius.

pi*14^2
=pi*196
=196pi
