Answer:

The process of decision-making is no easy feat. Usually, a person gets entangled in multiple options, in personal opinions and the opinions of others, and making choices that best respond to the person´s needs and the requirements of the circumstance in which he/she finds themselves in.

This is why there have been different strategies and techniques developed through psychology to help people grow and improve this process of decision-making and fulfill their potentials and needs. One such technique is STRONG, and this stands for:

S: State the issue. What are the decisions that need to be taken?

T: Think before deciding and analyze all the options available, before making the final choice.

R: Always rate the consequences. Analyze what the consequences of one, or another, decision, might arise.

O: Organize the information that you have, the decisions to be made, and analyze them under the light of your principles and values.

N: Narrow down the options and try to select from the smaller group, the best choice.

G: Go over the decision and what came out of it. In one word, evaluate your decision and its impact on you, and others. Re-evaluate and either choose a new decision, or stay with the one you made, depending on your needs and the results obtained.

This strategy helps people become better organized, and reduce chaos, when being confronted by an assortment of choices.
