In 2010, the RFK Community Schools opened its doors in Los Angeles, California. RFK Community Schools is the most expensive educational facility ever built in the United States. The RFK Community Schools complex is a cluster of six schools for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Built to ease overcrowding in the district, the "megaschool" can accommodate up to 4,200 students. The six-story complex includes such features as a state-of-the-art swimming pool and a manicured public park. It also includes a number of artistic murals.
