Since we are finding the area of the top of the water we will need to take our area which is 188 ft and divide that by π.
188 / π = x
This is equals a very long decimal, which we will refer to as x. In math we like to refrain from rounding more than once. The more we round the more our answer becomes inaccurate.
So at the end we will put this together in one equation. You will see what I mean.
Further more we will take the square root of x which will equal us our radius.
In one long equation it looks like this:
√(188 / π) = radius (7.7)
The question asks us to round to the nearest ft, therefore 8 would be your answer.
Hope that helps! If you have any questions feel free to let me know!
