Cell differentiation occurs when various genes are expressed to a different extent in different cells. What does it mean for a gene to be "turned off," or not expressed?

Respuesta :

Based on cell differentiation, what it means when a gene can be "turned off" or "turned on", or not expressed is what we call INDUCIBLE GENES. Other genes are inducible having this characteristic. When a gene is inducible, this means it can be responsive to its external environment or not. Hope this helps.
