Melanoma is the skin cancer caused by the mutation in the somatic cells of the body. It is also known as malignant melanoma, which develops  from the pigment containing cells known as melanocytes. The harmful rays of the sun contains UV rays that is responsible for causing mutation in the cells. It occurs basically in the skin but can rarely occur in mouth, intestines and eyes.
