You can just ignore them, think about it this way...
They are only preventing you from getting somewhere because they know that once you do get there, they'll be scared of you. Let them think bad things about you, they're just afraid that you may become too cool compared to them.
Look at Mark Zuckerberg! He wasn't really popular until he created, "The Facebook" later changed to, "Facebook". He originally got into a lot of trouble back at Harvard University, but after a lot of time and devotion, he is now a billionaire and people from all across the world respect him.
