Artists in Rome and Florence were more concerned about drawing and draftmanship because their main principle in art was Humanism. At the time it had reflected upon the downgrade of religion and the importance of an individual, works like "Birth of venus" by Botticelli are seen to appreciate these symbolic figures. Venice on the other hand, focused more on color because they were enlightened by the sight of the Cathedral's glittering  surfaces. An example of their deep contrast in color is Giorgione's The Adoration of the Shepherds.
