Simon Bolivar was was a Venezuelan military and political leader. He played an important role in the establishment of Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Panama as sovereign states . Liberty was his basic aim. He described liberty as "the only object worth the sacrifice of man's life'. According to him liberty was the freedom from a colonial power.
Two reasons why Bolivar unpopular leader were that we was a tyrant and his stand on freedom.
