This can be done by repeated exposure of the bacterial sample to the same antibiotic. This will enable you to see if the bacteria are able to survive in the presence of an antibiotic. The sensitive bacteria will die after some time of exposure. The resistant ones will survive and multiply, causing an increase in their numbers in the subsequent exposure with the antibiotic.
