Viruses are very small or micro-organisms that can not be seen using our naked eyes, and are only seen under strong microscopes. Their genomes are either made of DNA or RNA and surrounded a protein coat.
Viruses structure can take different viral shapes, these includes polyhedral, helical, enveloped, complex or helical. The different viral shapes gives one of the basis of classifying viruses. For example, most filamentous viruses are helical in shape, while icosahedral shape is observed in many spherical viruses.
