Jupiter is the largest planet of the solar system and its size is almost twice that of other planets.
The reason for such massive size of Jupiter is that when its formation took place, it took almost most of the mass left over after the sun was formed and it also has the same ingredients that form a star.
However, Jupiter could not form a star as it did not grow massive enough so that it could ignite.
