The ideas of the Enlightenment began to expand more widely at the end of the 17th century, in order to have a great influence during the 18th century, which led to many political revolutions. Ideas of enlightenment such as the equality of all, freedom of speech and choice, freedom of press and religious tolerancethe, limited power of the king, a free and democratically elected government verifiable by the people, and replaceable if it does not represent the public good. The enlightenment effects were a partial reason for the American Revolutionary War, because the colonists felt that the King had too much power, then imposed taxes, were a trigger to begin implementing the idea of the Enlightenment. The way to do this was the Revolutionary War, and these same ideas were the root of both the Declaration of Independence and later the Constitution.
Also, these ideas were the cause of the revolutions in the Western European countries, and one of them was the French Revolution, which is based on the principles of freedom, equality and brotherhood, freedom of speech, limited monarchy etc.
