how did the supreme court rule in letting native Americans stay on their land? why did they go still on the trail of tears?

Respuesta :

Cherokee v,. Georgia determinded that they were a separate foreign entity and did not have to be moved.

President Jackson ignored Marshall's ruling and moved them anyway.

The case Worcester v. Georgia (1832) stated that the Cherokee Nation was sovereign, and as such, they did not have to follow the mandates of Georgia's government. Tribal sovereignty, therefore, was first recognized in this case.

Despite this ruling, the Cherokee were forcibly removed from their land. President Andrew Jackson decided to ignore the ruling, and this forced removal is what is now called the Trail of Tears.
