First we're going to get rid of the square so:

Next we move -1 to the other side

4x - 1 + 1 = [tex] \sqrt{11} [/tex]+ 1

Which becomes 4x = [tex] \sqrt{11} [/tex] + 1

Last, we divide by 4

x = 1/4 + [tex] \sqrt{11} [/tex] ; 1/4 - [tex] \sqrt{11} [/tex]
