According to the tenth amendment the powers of "the federal government" are limited to only those specifically listed in the constitution.
The Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution limits the powers of the federal government to those accommodated in the Constitution and its changes, with all others powers being "saved" to the individual states and "the general population."
This is noteworthy in such a case that the federal government has just explicitly designated forces, it is restricted to those that are "recorded" in the Constitution, what are known as the identified forces. Without the utilization of that constraining modifier, the federal government has been held to have unenumerated powers, generally Congress, under what is known as the "necessary and proper" provision (Article I, Section 8), which enables Congress to make any laws that are essential and legitimate to do the listed obligations, those that are named particularly. The way that the vital and legitimate provision was incorporated has been deciphered to imply that it incorporates different powers.
