When you witness an event you are watching it, when you are part of it, you are physically involved in some way. Hope this helps!

Answer:

Witnessing an event, whether it be through a TV or a window, is nothing compared to actually being part of an event. When you’re part of an event, there’s a certain exhilaration, confidence, and just general hype you feel. These are things that cannot be shared with those who simply witness these events. You feel like you’re part of the community around you and you feel like you belong, while the people who witness might feel left out. However, there are some benefits to witnessing it. Some events can be dangerous and might be better to watch them from a safe distance. This can mean protests, riots, and any violent events. When I went to a protest at my school, I thought before hands about the cause and if I genuinely wanted to do it. Till today, I’m glad I participated and glad I was not a bystander or witness to the event. I have, however, witnessed violent protests on TV. While I did agree with the cause I was glad I was only witnessing it because I could have been seriously injured if I was participating in it. This is the main difference between witnessing and experiencing an event.
