The hypothalamus makes two hormones, anti-diuretic hormone and oxytocin, that are stored by the posterior pituitary. The anti-diuretic hormone is responsible of water reabsorption of water at the kidneys while oxytocin is the that stimulates the contraction in the uterus during childbirth.
