In the short story, Three Small Miracles, Leah was Kelly’s classmate. She tried to invite Kelly to go hang out but since it’s a Sunday and Kelly’s parents were in a church conference, Kelly declined the invitation. Kelly also stated that she has not yet started on their poem assignment. Leah answered that she has already finished hers. She read her work to Kelly and volunteered to help Kelly with her homework. Kelly politely refused stating that she would rather get an F than to copy off from another person’s work.
