A major part of the greenhouse effect is that it involves the absorption of the earth's outgoing radiation by atmospheric gases. Along with carbon dioxide, the atmospheric component that is largely responsible for this process is the water vapor.

Water vapor is already the gaseous phase of water.  It evaporates all the way through the atmosphere. Since water vapor is produced from the boiling liquid of water, or from the ice sublimation, all the radiation and other chemicals that produces greenhouse gases which are present in the water will also be carried towards the Earth’s atmosphere during the process of evaporation. This, along with carbon dioxide totally damages the Earth’s ozone layer.
