The Pretty Pizza Company wants to open a new pizza place either on the north side of town or the south side of town. They want to open the pizza place where the ratio of pizza places per person is less than 0.008. The population of 15 blocks of the north side of town is 220 people per block, but there are already 26 pizza places in the area. The population of 22 blocks of the south area is 175 people per block, and there are 33 pizza places in the area. Where, if anywhere, should the Pretty Pizza Company open a new pizza place? Respuesta :

multiply the number of blocks by number of people per block

Then divide number of pizza places by that

1st block:

15 blocks x 220 people = 220*15 = 3300

26 pizza places = 26/3300 = 0.0078

2nd Block

175 * 22 =3850

33/3850 = 0.0085

the first one is just under 0.008 but if you round it to 3 places it is 0.008

the 2nd are is just over 0.008 ( 0.009 if you round it to 3 places)

so they would be better off building in the first area, if they build at all.
