Language is based on basic sound units called the Phonemes. Phonemes are sounds in a language that makes the word different from one another. Phonemes are also the categories of sounds that our vocal cords produce in order to make a word.in english, it consist of 40-45 Phonemes.
A phoneme is the basic unit of phonology. It is the smallest unit of sound that may cause a change of meaning within a language, but that doesn't have meaning by itself.
