Respuesta :
The heavier elements in the universe were formed by fusion reactions. Fusion reaction is a type of nuclear reaction where two or more nuclei combine or collide to form an element with a higher atomic number. This happens when the collision is in a very high speed. This reaction is the source of power of the Sun and other stars in the universe. The most common example of this reaction that happens in space is the fusion of hydrogen isotopes - Deuterium and Tritium - forming a much heavy element which is helium. For this reaction to occur, the nuclei of the atoms should be very close with each other so that the nuclear forces would bind them together.
The formation of the heavier element is takes place by the Nuclear fusion reaction.
Further explanation:
After the big bang universe contain only hydrogen, helium and very trace amount of the lithium.
The formation of the heavier element is takes place by the fusion reaction.
In fusion reaction two lighter nucleus combines and form the heavier nucleus. This happens when the two lighter nucleus collides at very high speed. In this process lots of energy is released.
Fusion reaction is the source of the power of the sun and the also the other stars of the universe.
Generally, heavier elements are formed by the stars by the fusion reaction in their core. In this process formation of element up to iron takes place.
The elements which are heavier than iron are form by the action of the supernova.
When a star’s core run out of the hydrogen then it becomes unstable and finally it explodes due to its own gravitational force. This phenomenon is known as supernova.
For example, the formation of the helium nucleus from the hydrogen and its isotopes is an example of the fusion reaction.
